For so many reasons, working with Leah, a class of 2016 senior at Rockford High School, was an absolutely awesome way to kick off my senior portrait season this past year!
As a mom, I always love the opportunity to celebrate with moms as their little girl has become a beautiful young woman. In this case, though, Leah’s mom was one of my own high school best friends! We all had so much fun and laughter as we reminisced about our own senior year, as well as what has and hasn’t changed now that it’s Leah’s turn in the spotlight!
As a big time foodie, I loved the chance to talk food-stuff with Leah! She is an aspiring chef (her mom tells me she already rocks the kitchen!), and hopes to pursue culinary school for her own higher education. Gotta say, I’m a little jealous!
As a lover of light and beauty, we could hardly have asked for a more gorgeous evening for Leah’s shoot. The light was divine, the Lake Michigan beach and shoreline at Kirk Park was the perfect setting, and Leah was a PHENOMENAL model. She just glowed in front of the camera. Her makeup (by Linda G) perfectly enhanced her incredible natural beauty, and she looked amazing in every outfit, from casual to boho to dressy.
Leah had this to say about her whole Senior Portrait Experience:
“I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to look as “cool” as others, because I’ve never seen myself as very photogenic. But Jennifer was amazing at just talking me through all the different steps and poses, and she made me look incredible! I loved how fun she was and how I felt she really related to me. My makeup was also amazing! Wish I could get it done like that every day!
Jennifer is incredible and has amazing talent in relating to her clients and making them feel 100% comfortable. And her pictures turn out amazing!”
